Songs like Russian Roulette sell albums too and she had a lot of momentum going into the Rated R era with the incident and coming off of GGGB and we see what happened

We Found Love wasn't generic when it was released. No song on the radio sounded like that and it wasn't until its success that the influx of songs with the similar build-up beat came to prominence.
