Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol teams up with Taylor, and they go the darkly romantic route on this song. It’s the most mature and adult contemporary track on the record, and if worked correctly by her label, it could introduce Swift to a whole other world of fans and radio programmers, not to mention injecting her with a dose of credibility. It’s also sort of epic. She does pair up nicely with others (see her work with The Civil Wars on ‘Safe & Sound‘ for further, non-’Red’ proof!). It reminds us of those larger-than-life, male-female duets of the ’80s — think Cher and Peter Cetera, Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton — where the two voices were key. In that regard, it’s a throwback to that era of duets.

My problem with SN is that it's such a bloated album. Too much unnecessary 'fat'. Funny that I have the same problem as well with MBDTF. And SN was so poorly engineered. Give a listen to the LP version, good Lord, it seems like they thought pressing vinyl = copying the MP3s from CD to vinyl. Even tho I loathe 3 songs, and meh on the other 3 so far, this one fits my taste more. Less in-your-face, letting the melodies & lyrics to work together. I just love it.

All in all, her discography so far is very excellent. All great LPs.

I don't think it is over produced. All the best songs on the album have massive productions ala Enchanted, Speak Now, Mean, better than revenger except tha ballads. Although it lacks the flow consistency, the great individuality of every song makes up for it.
There's almost no bad song on tha album.

Apart from the promo singles which I loved the standouts for me were All Too Well, Treacherous, The Lucky One, Everything has Changed, sad beautiful tragic, I Almost Do, The Last Time and Stay, Stay , Stay. JMO but I feel like she took her writing up a notch on this album. I will be wearing this album out.

Still a good album SN is, but that album just felt all over the place for me. "Mean" was on point, the rest were really good as stand-alone songs. For a Pop/Mainstream Country alberm, that one is great. But it has no flow. Thanks to the atrocious song placement.

Yeah they are all good so I could how Speak Now is your #1. I certainly think the ability to write all the songs by herself is her greatest achievement but going on just the song quality Fearless> Taylor Swift> Speak Now but that's just me.
