Ok, i think Rihanna's noms will be 1 for Rap/sung collabo, 1 for pop duo, 1 for best short form video and one for pop performance (doubt this one though)

I can't wait to see the entire Rap/Sung Collaboration list. I want it to be between "Lotus Flower Bomb" and "Nobody's Perfect." I wonder if Jay-Z/Kanye submitted "No Church in the Wild."

I think they all stand an outside chance... Rap/Sung and Pop Album could squeeze given Grammys have rewarded her material there recently.. but neither are exactly leading choices. And Pop Solo I agree is really doubtful
The other two are hopeful. Relying on Best Short Form Video for We Found Love's deserved success!
Gotye is probably a shoo-in for Pop Duo

I think Frank Ocean, Mumford & Sons and the Black Keys will be leading nominees.

There's no way Gotye isn't taking that award.
Being not subitted to SOTY makes it like a pre-requirement to win in the field category to take then ROTY (which I really think he will).
watch out how Maroon 5 get nominated for the third year in a row in the Group pop or Duo (now Duo/Group), and for the fourth time in five years for the category and lose again
Ubi Maior, Minor Cessat though
Somebody That I Used To Know is a wonderful song and deserves all glory

Yeah, I think Gotye will take Pop Group and Record of the Year.
Song of the Year will depend on what's nominated. "We Are Young" has a chance, I suppose. Something telling me it will be something like "Lonely Boy" or "I Won't Give Up," though.

Sorry for the double post, but here's a little snapshot of two different winners in Record & Song of the Year since 2002:
2002
Record of the Year - U2, "Walk On"
Song of the Year - Alicia Keys, "Fallin'"
2004
Record of the Year - Coldplay, "Clocks"
Song of the Year - Luther Vandross, "Dance With My Father"
2005
Record of the Year - Ray Charles & Norah Jones, "Here We Go Again"
Song of the Year - John Mayer, "Daughters"
2006
Record of the Year - Green Day, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"
Song of the Year - U2, "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own"
2009
Record of the Year - Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, "Please Read The Letter"
Song of the Year - Coldplay, "Viva La Vida"
2010
Record of the Year - Kings of Leon, "Use Somebody"
Song of the Year - Beyonce, "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)"
It will happen again this season.

I think Fun are frontrunners for SOTY, but I also think Payphone can be a contender there well over I Won't Give Up (for the fact the song of the year is more about global impact & production counts more than the performance, which makes I won't Give Up a bit too folk-ish to standout probably, but I could be wrong).
If Fun's considered the alternative submission, Payphone could be there as "pop" submission, especially considering Gotye will pay it dust to it in other categorizations.
It's gonna be truly interesting, I cannot wait to see the real nominees out of the many submissions.
It's always an exciting moment for me, sometimes even more than the declared winners (which you can often predict out of the nominees anyway, memorizing how Grammy voters tend to cast their ballots after a while).
For sure Grammy darling NEXT time is gonna be Taylor though.
I can already see her Red era break all records in nominations

Huh?
Global impact doesn't necessarily matter here.
"Daughters," "Dance With My Father," "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own," "Need You Now" and "Not Ready To Make Nice" all won here in the last decade. "I Won't Give Up" is definitely more Grammy's taste than "Payphone."

I am not saying it isn't... but for SOTY a song in the folk-like department will be already picked up and it may come from a greater source (Mumford and Sons).
While Payphone is fully pop, and pop is going to be represented in the crop for sure (it always has).
Grammy voters have given that spot to many songs that were purely pop in recent memory (way more than they used to, see Katy Perry), so that makes Payphone a possible choice for sure.
Not saying anything more than it.
But also anything less

Again... we just have to wait and see
I love I Won't Give Up so for me is no problem if it gets nominated.
Nothing prevents me from like the run anyway.

I still have my doubts over a Best New Artist nomination for Carly.

Me too.
Many very successful singers who had a smash (but just a single one) weren't considered at all for Grammies, let alone one of the Big 4 ones (Kesha wasn't nominated for any of her Tik Tok eras hits, am I wrong? I don't remember correctly, but if she wasn't, I don't see why Carly should be considered a natural nominee).
