That's the thing... movie soundtracks don't sell like they used to. I mean, there are still hit songs
from movie soundtracks, but they're usually not really all that tied to the movie they come from. You can't listen to "My Heart Will Go On" without thinking of Titanic, nor can you listen to "Danger Zone" without thinking of Top Gun... but "It Will Rain" doesn't really make me think of Breaking Dawn, nor does "Safe and Sound" make me think of The Hunger Games.
Pitbull's "Back in Time" is the closest thing we've got in recent memory to a movie theme that's inseparable from the movie it's tied to, but it sucked, and it wasn't even
that big of a hit.
