Christina, for example, has twice as many #1 singles as #1 albums and her singles have double the chart longevity as her albums. She may be only ranked #10, but judging by that metric, she is clearly much further in the "singles artist" column.

In other words, Kelly's singles are slightly more successful than her albums. I'll take it.
Don't forget that this is about longevity. If we are talking about sales than Kelly her singles are a lot more successful than her albums. Kelly has sold 23 million albums and 40 million singles worldwide. But when it comes to longevity, her albums have done almost equally as well as her singles.

But even still with older artists like Madonna, Mariah, Kylie, even Britney, etc The longevity ranking isn't until after 2003. Mariah's most longevous album was before 2003 as was Madonna's and Britney's.
