 Now, now, let's not exaggerate. If the song had been released from the get go as a Britney collab, with a music video and all, it could very well have gone #1, too.
If it did only "small" it was because 'S&M' was already a 3 months old single by the time the remix was released, there wasn't that much more people willing to buy it anyway.
