For the earlier conversation on Circus/Femme Fatale: I can agree with the fact that the concepts on the latter album are not Britney. I think I said that last year, actually, finding the whole idea of a 'femme fatale' when nothing on the album lyrically represents Britney of today. At the same time, I think that is what she set out to do and she perfected a cohesive, solid album. It wasn't meant to be a personal reflection set, but just as she put it: "moody, edgy pop with A LOT of energy". And it further wowed critics are her ability to keep pushing pop boundaries.
Circus may feel like Britney because all of the demos she unwrapped from the FedEx box had concepts producers thought made sense to sing about at the time, but it doesn't feel any more authentic to me. Knowing what the idea behind
Femme Fatale was allows me not to vigorously trash/criticize it for being anything other, because just like with criticisms over her doing dance pop or being a sex kitten, she never sat down and said she'd be/do anything else.
