Fox and Simon were probably as shocked as we were with the ratings and are planning something as we speak to boost them. However, we have to remember TV ratings are declining year after year after year. 3 is the new 4 these days.

People are so unrealistic. To see Britney's positive impact on the X Factor, just imagine if Nicole and Paula were still on the show going directly against The Voice. It would be lucky to get a 2.0 18-49 demo rating. It would not have got anywhere near the 3.4 demo it got with Britney which tied the Voice. The Voice being a established hit show not a show dealing with seriously **** reviews from the year before. Last night it got 3.1 vs the AGT finale that had Justin Beiber on it which got 2.4.

I know Fox and Simon are planning something. The ratings aren't bad, but that NBC thing was so dirty and probably got them really pressed. I honestly feel like there is some major planning going on behind the scenes....like making a special episode of the X-Factor after a football game for a big lead-in...I remember them doing something similar last year.
Not to mention that revamped promotional campaign Simon said he was going to do.

It's a big deal considering that the show was a flop last season and needed someone to lift it to success. Britney was that person and was paid $18 million to do it. Unfortunately, the premiere was a failure given the immense hype, but I'm hopeful that the show will do great and the ratings will pick up as it progresses.
