Here's my take on it. The song isn't anything to brag about. It's nothing special; it's just an average track honestly. The chorus could've been executed MUCH better; regardless if Cassie is irrelevant, she could've done much better. It's alright, but it's nothing to brag home about. Plus, the auto-tune in the song is cringe-worthy. Nicki did her thing; her verses were good. However, this was not a good idea for a first single, and I pray that this gets demoted to a buzz single honestly. This isn't a good representation of the Re-Up...at all. I expected an all-Urban lyrical track; you know, something that better represented it. This isn't it. It's not very good.
I don't see this doing well. I just don't see it. I see it getting moderate success. The song won't gain back any of those lost urban fans, so I don't get the point honestly. Don't badge an "all-rap" tweet and have us thinking otherwise and then drop something like this honestly. I feel like it was just there to be there. I feel like Nicki herself sometimes doesn't even know what we want from her. I just want some quality material that represent what she's TRULY capable of on the Re-Up, and "The Boys" isn't cutting it. This track isn't showing everyone that she's moving forward honestly, it just says she's still in the same position from before.
While I do criticize the song and admit it's not the best and she could do WAY better, I still use it. It's ok. It grows on you after a few listens. However, that third verse >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I put you bitches on to them good lace-fronts.
Girls is my sons, carried them for eight months.
And yes you premature, Young Money to the core.
I might give you a ticket so you could come and see the tour!
