I saw some negative tweets too (the expected "not as hot as she used to be" "why is she judging singers" blah blah) but the reception seems to be mostly positive!

I am HOPING they use this momentum and we get a new era near the end of this!!!!!!!!
I felt they went way to far with trying to make her seem mean....that whole segment of her saying "no" wasn't needed, cause I'm sure she wasn't the only one.
While it was funny, it just as that girl said "Britney is SOOO mean"

Britney gave Ellen DeGeneres her biggest season opening since 2003, according to TheHollywoodReporter.com.
Ellen scored a 3.0 in total households in metered markets, and its highest rating since the 2006-07 season. (Full national numbers won’t be available until next week.) That projects Ellen as taking an 8 percent share of the viewing audience, which would be her best in that measure since the show went on the air in 2003.
Ellen not only placed first in households, but also among women 25 to 54 (with a 2.2 rating among the key daytime audience demo), women 18 to 49 (1.7) and adults 25 to 54 (1.4).
