They don't. They have the first big shipment, and unless the album flies off the shelf, they don't find any reason to ship again. They probably shipped like 800 or 900k of AIEW and Stronger.
Her only uncertified album is AIEW.

How can they ship only 800 or 900k in total when all I ever wanted has sold 950k and stronger 920k. Stronger is still selling so that means RCA is obviously still shipping. You can't ship 800k or 900k then the album has sold more then 920k, that doesn't make sense. The amount of shipping is always ahead of the amount of sales. If not the album would be out of stock.

You're forgetting about digital sales, sis. She hasn't sold 920k physical copies. Maybe 6 or 700...
Didn't they certify Stronger gold when it has only just passed 400k?

They certify it based on shipments. Stronger has shipped 500k at release. My December is probably her only album that was shipped a million copies at release.
And yeah I totally forgot about the digital sales.

I guess I just feel like, since they certified it gold, they have every intention of certifying it again. Who knows.

RCA hasn't even been certifying her singles either though so I wouldn't be surprised if AIEW and Stronger really have shipped 1 million units

So she's only sold over 618k physical copies. Now I'm POSITIVE RCA never shipped a million.
There is NAWT 383k copies of Stronger on shelves across the US. I'm lucky if I see 2 copies in every Best Buy and Target I visit.

They don't have to ship a million. As long as the number of physical copies shipped PLUS the number of digital copies sold equals 1 million, they can certify it.

They need to re-certify A LOT OF singles as well.

From what I understand, you can only get certified Platinum if you've either SOLD one million copies, or SHIPPED one million PHYSICAL copies.
But I could be wrong.
