How can you even assume that? She's a commercial pop artist. Of course sales are a major factor. It's not like there won't be physical copies of this album.

I agree, and yeah i'm really excited too! I don't understand what's with all the hate/dislike all of a sudden, but i'm here for this. This sounds new and fresh and for an artist like Gaga i'm anticipating big things and new ways to listen to her music!

How does including an app with the album discourage sales? Its extra content that isn't required to listen to the music. If anything this will push album sales so people can get the music videos and extra music.

The app will be mostly for hardcore fans who'd likely buy a physical CD as well anyway, all the regular people will likely just choose to buy the album as usual. Her sales will not be adversely affected by this project.

I don't know why I even bother coming into Gaga related threads on here, just a bunch of idiots complaining, this time about something that she's only intending to add to make the whole era more fun for her fans. I don't get how anyone complain about extras.

I am glad she's going to be much more interactive this era, it's gonna be great.

For the app, I could see it being set up like Windows Phone 8 with the textiles. Then have each textile for a song, click on it and you option to play it, watch a fashion short, view covers, hear about how Gaga wrote the song and what it means, etc.

People are tripping over this app too much though. The real deciding factor as to how this era will perform is based on the music and her execution.

This app is just a bonus feature to the album itself.

I just hope she puts the app out after the album launch. Or atleast not release all the minivideos/explanation for each song upon launch. It sounds like it from her letter which is good. It creates more hype during the era. In between singles etc.

From my impression it appears the app is being advertised as the definitive release of the album. She can slowly update it with music videos.
