As close as the scoreline was, it never really felt like Venus had a chance to win. She seems to always falter in close matches. At this point she really needs to consider what she wishes to accomplish. If she's playing merely for the love of the game, then she should move to exhibitions or play on the senior tour. This year has been a mess, a major blotch in her career and she's only weakening her w/l ratio. It's below 80% now. Players can really make a habit of beating Venus. Clijsters and Jankovic in recent years, Kerber and Radwanska this year.

I started disliking Venus way back in '04 when she acted like a ghetto princess after losing to Dementieva in the SF of Miami.

Terrible set of tennis but at least she came out on top. Hope she can pull this off.
