It's also obvious that she was inspired by Madonna too, and by many of singers/groups of her past. It's still her album though, so of course she's going to make it sound like it's her best. That's just apart of growing as an artist.

Definitely, I think she thought she'd be able to overcome the fact that it wasn't really sonically mainstream, through her name and her brand. It didn't work out like expected though. Oh well.

I didn't "ate" BTW, i genuinely like BTW, it has some fillers but still way better and more solid than most of the other gurls albums released that time around.

IMO it's not good to "test" your real fans, but I don't think Gaga was like "let me release this really weird record to test my real fans, WUAHAHAHAHAHA!" She knew the BTW was risky and it was going to piss off some people for whatever reason they wanted to be pissed off by.
