Beyonce is definitely not on MJ's level in terms of cultural impact, popularity and sales! I mean Beys sales are pathetic! Xtina, Pink, Britney, Avril and even Rihanna's sales figures
are much better than Beyonce's sales!  But performance wise,
Beyonce is wayyy better than MJ!
And I'm still waiting for the day that Beyonce will become the World's Famous Pop Star!

Anyway, brilliant compliment and agreed! Clearly, it's not even possible to duplicate the impact of MJ or even Madonna -- the timing was just a perfect storm of elements that created mega-stardom on THAT level back in the '80s and the music industry has changed drastically since then. But as a performer and the type of celebrity, definitely yes.

Compare Avril, Christina, Pink and Britney's sales between 2003 till date and tell me how they're outdoing Bey? I'll help u with Britney, since Bey's debut, her albums have outsold Brit's
Are u serious with Rihanna? The one that averages like 3 mil per album. You have your calculations jacked up
The only era Bey did not have multiplatinum singles is 4 and even so her digital sales is better than any of her peers from the early 00s.

He's not saying that Beyonce = Michael Jackson. He's saying that in terms of magic, excitement, energy, work ethic, the theatrics and the "show" part of show business Beyonce is the closest we have to Michael. Aside from Gaga there aren't a lot of pop stars, just famous pop personalities and reality TV stars. The excitement that you got from Michael, Madonna, Prince and, a lesser extent, Janet is mostly gone from this generation. These days, being a great performer isn't as valued when an artist can get attention in so many other ways.

This, if she really is the Michael Jackson of this generation, then IASF or 4 should have sold 20 million copies worldwide, but Adele is slaying her like it's nothing.
If anything, Adele is the MJ of our generation. She basically outsold Bey's entire career with 1 CD.
