Well, you talk it out with someone you trust. Preferably someone who isn't friends with her or doesn't know her, because they could easily dig you into an even deeper hole. Friends of exes like to start sheisse.

All of this is assuming that she won't talk it out with you, which is the best option of course. But if not, you'd need to find someone who is willing o listen, but not offer their own input about what you should and should not do.

They might have greatly overstated it, but they have a point. Perhaps if Adele weren't a rarity in a world where dance pop rules, she would have sold less. If more people did toned down ballads then she wouldn't be seen as being so special. Even critics noted that her contrast to stars like Gaga and Katy was a factor in her runaway success.

The idea behind the thread itself was perfectly clear. To get people to scoff and say Gaga had no real effect, playing to how defensive they get whenever her name is mentioned.
