I was wondering why all my curse words was getting **** on top and ****. I haven't been on here in forever. Um but anyway, if it's necessary I mean I guess.
Is this cencership just about some words? Even though it's kinda unfair I'd rather accept it than see the site being shut down, I guess (unless Kworb'll do something bigger ).
I am not bothered by the censorship at all, and it keeps the site going, so for me the choice is clear.
I don't see how anyone could have a huge problem with the censorship. Everyone knows what you mean, also with the censor. But that's probably just me
This is being done because Joe really has no choice, so the fate of this site matters a lot more than the freedom to swear. I'm not too bothered by it. Though I really don't understand why words like p-ornagraphy and p-ussycat are censored. Those aren't vulgar words. And I think advertisers are rather selective on who they enforce their standards. I've been on plenty messageboards where people cursed to their hearts' content with impunity.
I never had an issue with the censorship. If censorship is the only way to keep ATRL from closing, then you should keep it. Yes, you will some people who will complain, but they just have to deal with it.
Like already suggested, at least display the first letter of the word being censored. And fix the problem with urls being censored (if that's even possible). Besides that I've really no issues with it at all.
I don't think the censorship is ALL that bad... I mean people can still probably understand what you're saying.
BUT CLOSING THIS SITE WOULD BE A TRAGEDY!!!
Idk if someone already posted this idea but maybe we can have one lone uncensored thread ala NHB and SYG. Or maybe we can uncensor those two but the rest of the threads will remain strictly censored for the sake of the ads. Censorship is kinda sad but it's a better option than having to shut down the site
Instead of asterisks, convert them to words such as poopoo. SomethingAwful does this to circumvent the strict rules of censorship and it makes everything look hilarious.
