I think she has more female fans. I'd say a good 35% of her fanbase accounts for gays.

I don't agree with that at all actually. I feel like due to the Billboard Chart rules she had a harder time charting in the past because that was when R&B & Rap were flourishing. Even taking in percentage or population, in relation to her album sales, I think she sold more here.

Italy is probably her biggest market to when taking percentage of population into account. If only she had a full promo tour for Dignity and multiple trips back to promote follow-up singles like she did with Most Wanted.

I hate how difficult it is for people to break in Europe.

Actually her albums usually chart higher and have better certification in Canada. And her singles did better in Canada too

Except for her self-titled album & the Best Of they've all peaked in the same position.

Her singles only charted higher because again, the chart rules were very different & R&B & Rap were the bigger genres back in the day.

Agreed. My mom passed away when I was 6 a few years before SWOM and that song helped me a lot. I'm 17 now and I still listen to that song whenever I'm missing my mom. Hilary is just amazing for releasing such a song. It's helped a lot of people. I see comments on the most viewed video of SWOM of people saying that they aren't even really fans of Hil, but they love and relate to the song and it's inspiring. <3

Exactly this. I guess I find it cheesy because it's highly sentimental, and I can't relate at all. I am the odd one out with my comments so don't take my words to heart. I've never lost anybody close to me and I know it will happen sometime I just....don't know what it feels like and I can't pretend to. I can see obviously it's sad though so I'm sorry for those of you have been through a loss and it's cool that Hilary can help people with that. Honestly nobody has really explained that side of SWOM to me before.

Just from being at concerts, it's definitely more female fans. Her male fanbase is 98% gay, 2.9% old man pedo/stalkers, and 0.1% normal straight dudes. I've met many who fit into all those categories lol. Gays love Hilary. There's a gay intern at work and I think he peed his pants when I told him I've been to 7 Hilary Duff concerts.
