I'm not understanding how SWOM is necessarily cheesy. Yeah it might have a grand production, but lyrically it's one of her more meaningful songs.

Agreed. My mom passed away when I was 6 a few years before SWOM and that song helped me a lot. I'm 17 now and I still listen to that song whenever I'm missing my mom. Hilary is just amazing for releasing such a song. It's helped a lot of people. I see comments on the most viewed video of SWOM of people saying that they aren't even really fans of Hil, but they love and relate to the song and it's inspiring. <3

Exactly this. I guess I find it cheesy because it's highly sentimental, and I can't relate at all. I am the odd one out with my comments so don't take my words to heart. I've never lost anybody close to me and I know it will happen sometime I just....don't know what it feels like and I can't pretend to. I can see obviously it's sad though so I'm sorry for those of you have been through a loss and it's cool that Hilary can help people with that. Honestly nobody has really explained that side of SWOM to me before.

I'm wondering this: We all know she's a great supporter and the gay loves her, but how many percents of her base are gay? And she has more male or female fans?

Just from being at concerts, it's definitely more female fans. Her male fanbase is 98% gay, 2.9% old man pedo/stalkers, and 0.1% normal straight dudes. I've met many who fit into all those categories lol. Gays love Hilary. There's a gay intern at work and I think he peed his pants when I told him I've been to 7 Hilary Duff concerts.

I think she has more female fans too. Though most of us here is male
35% seems to be a good and accurate number Most Hilary stans in my country is straight tho
Do you think the base in Canada is bigger (in percent of population) than the base in the US? She always has more success in Canada than the US

I think at the end, yes. For her Dignity tour she was doing different and much smaller venues in the U.S. compared to her previous venues. In Canada she went to all the same arenas for her Dignity tour. I noticed that difference big time.
