Earlier in her career, Gaga wore a expensive Hermes Birkin ( the bag extension of the hooded thing she's flaunting on twitter) bag to a Japanese airport. Not wanting to seem like those over indulgent celebrities , she committed the unthinkable by writing a nice message to Japan/ fans in marker.
