Nicole likes whatever song is most popular. She was ALL about No Doubt until Settle Down didn't smash.

But, I will nawt have you coming for We Are Young. That song's structure is incredibly sophisticated

I don't hate the lyrics, they just aren't relateable. When I say I want songs like The Fame back, I want something relateable. How can I relate to a Warhol painting. It's more lyrics that the general public don't care for, so if this is true, I don't see success.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or are just plain delusional. It is well crafted but with lyrics like 'my friends are in the bathroom getting higher than the empire state'.. 'I need someone to carry me home' it definitely lacks sophistication. Maybe I'm just one of the few that never enjoyed the song.

You can really relate more to being rich, stalked by paparazzi, and fame-hungry than you can to thinking something is like a painting? Really? REALLY?

You can't just pick and choose the most banal sounding lyrics, devoid of context, to show that the song is meaningless.

You haven't listened close enough to the song if you think it's just a celebration of getting wasted. It's about the swirling, complex emotions that a night at the bar with friends can bring, most of them nostalgic and melancholy. It's about needing to lean on your friends because your own life is too complex and ****ed up to handle by yourself. Note how he starts the song by begging forgiveness from someone, and offering, "I'll carry you home tonight," but by the end he gives up on trying to reconcile with her, his friends return, and soon he's begging for someone to carry him home instead. It's not just "hey let's go get wasted and high, that would be fun!"

But, I don't want to get off topic. The point is, any one couple of lines can completely change your opinion and the meaning of a song, so there is no use screaming about unrelatability or lack of sophistication when all you've SEEN, not even heard, are a bunch of random phrases.
