This is not a literal monarchy where the general public starts calling new people the queen or king depending on their sales each week or year or according to a vote. Elvis, Michael, James Brown, Aretha and Madonna will most likely forever be bound to the titles they earned in music. Others will be known by their stage name or new titles.

Michael is King. Madonna is Queen. Britney is Princess. This is the ONLY THING that has been AGREED UPON BY POP CULTURE & MASS MEDIA.

These days, everybody is in contention to be Queen/Princess of Pop, whether it is Rihanna and Gaga or freakin Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez. Michael, Madonna and Britney EARNED these titles; they weren't taken from anyone and they weren't handed down.

Nobody called Mandy Moore and Jessica Simpson and Christina Aguilera and Willa Ford and all those girls the Princess or Queen of Pop. It's a new fad representative of the short attention span of the current generation. The Queen/Princess of pop these days are just whoever is hot at the moment; it's annoying.

My thoughts on this anyway is who the **** cares? no one gets a special prize for being endowed a title, it's just another useless "accolade" that stans utilize against each other. Everyone has to be a "special snowflake" now.

No one could ever replace the Queen Of Pop.But I do Believe there are several.Queens Of Pop:Madge,Britney,Kylie.Princesses:Rihanna,Katy,an d Gaga.Queen Of R&B:Mariah.King Of Pop:Micheal.King Of Rock Elvis.and so on and so forth.I don't think anyone can replace tge people with their "titles" unless the world completely forgets about them but we all no that won't happen.
