I sort of agree. In addition to the Pop art movement, there are several prominent albums named PopArt, but none that are inverted.

I agree with this. "Judas" is not any good but it's regarded as one of her best videos ever.

Though I disagree with you when you "Paparazzi" was her only great video. Most of the TFM videos were pretty good. Even when "Telephone" was messy it was still awesome.

Agreed. The problem with ATRL, though, is that people try to interpret things with no basis in fact. "SHE THINKS SHE'S BETTER THAN WARHOL!" is not a valid interpretation. "She's saying she's influenced by Warhol and has similar aims," is.

Not all opinions are equal if your opinion isn't based in fact.

But that's something else that saddens me about pop cultural criticism. Too much emphasis is placed on "good" or "bad" with no attempt to understand. The poster I quoted fully admitted that he didn't understand the album title, yet still claimed to be able to pass judgment on it.

If you totally understand the concept, and still find it uninteresting, then that's completely different than saying "it's a bad concept," or even worse, as some people were saying before, "there is no concept."

The title itself is not an inherently new, ludicrously offensive escalation of anything about Gaga's aesthetic. It is, in fact, a return to the themes and aims of her earlier work, which is exactly what everyone screaming about her pretentiousness wanted her to do to begin with.

Exactly! I'd be lying if I said 'PopArt' sounded better than 'ARTPOP' because obviously the former rolls off the tongue, but ARTPOP is just too apropriate to ignore.

But up until this point I thought she was very artistic... Let's see what she gives us when she's being Artistic by her standard.

But can you stop capitalizing the arguments that differ from yours? They've explained it to you. You said in your OP "In a LM.com chat, Gaga said she wanted to turn Andy Warhol's concept of art inside out.". She is in no position to do that and that's what they've been telling you all along. Maybe they do need to capitalize it so you'll get it.
