This is utterly true. Just talk to any person that likes/ed her music and they'll say they want her generic pop music back. They want an artist to sing a catchy song, and nothing more. She belongs to her own genre altogether to be honest.

I hope she does return to The Fame style though. Having songs worthy of staying in the game while having a serious undertone that no-one appreciates until 30 years from now when people look back and think "Wow. She was really incredible."

That's exactly what I'm thinking (Private In Public was probably up for album title at one point).

I feel like people constantly undermine her intelligence & talent. And people think she's over analytical & too serious/pretentious (that word needs to become ******** on ATRL) because she's a female pop star, which was what she was satirizing the entire The Fame era - the fact that female popstars are seen as vapid, narcissistic & industry-machines.

Maybe I'm wrong & she didn't have this all planned out - but I wouldn't be surprised if she did. And it makes it seem all the more fascinating. She's such a fascinating figure & stuff like this makes me think she could end up being a legend if she plays her cards right for decades to come (obviously it's a hyperbole to call her even close to a legend now because she's not even close yet, but there's a ton of potential).
