I remember gettin' a point for replying with Biblio alone, which was appropriate for the post i quoted. (You can check my WPs & see). But whatever.

We don't have rules for what's pointless and what isn't. Each mod uses their own judgement. I don't mind most smiley-only or gif-only posts, but there are mods who do. I'm not going to challenge their decisions.

I understand that some moderating is subjective, but there needs to be some sort of clear definition of WP-worthy stuff.

Nicknames have been made non-negotiable. You have to decide if GIF-only/smiley only posts are too

The warning system leaves a lot of grey areas which is where the subjectivity comes from. To remove the grey areas we would need tons and tons of clarifications which is no way to run a forum. The continued attempted removal of grey areas (by constantly introducing new topics that were "off limits") is what made SYG (and NHB) a horrible place to moderate and post in.

Not everything is fair. I know that's a crap argument once it happens to yourself, but I prefer not everything being fair over making rules that might not fit every situation.
