I actually agree with Kworb.

Mods, what do you guys think about moving all the movie discussion to the Lounge, like we have with games and sports? I feel like the box-office and movie threads look a bit out of place at Celebria, I think it would be more organized and I also think it would give some life to the Lounge. We can do it with TV discussion too.
Think about it.

On the contrary, Celebria was always Entertainment stuff, as in TV/Movies/etc. It's just now become a lesser form of TMZ, seeing it's the same artists with minor movements that make the new threads.

Just give it a WP so that my report reason can show up on the July tea It's flamebait and you know it

Celebrities are people we are not in contact with, members are... obviously it's different when I say "my friend Lee" versus "my friend Beck" because that gives off different tones since I talk to Lee but Beck doesn't even know I exist. Therefore, if I say "Beck sucks," he'll never see it or care, because I am one fan, but if I say "Lee sucks," then he can find out or one of you can tell him. It can affect the community through my hate on Lee, who is active here.

I have a general question for the mods. I've noticed recently that if I were to drag certain famous people who aren't popstars or who don't have "stans" on this site that the post would go unwarned, but obviously if this person was Gaga or Britney or Katy, etc. then the post will very quickly and unquestionably be warned.
For example, Drake Bell was being dragged left and right in the threads about his twitter. Or in the Ye Shiwen thread, there are some xenophobic comments about the Chinese always cheating (in more colorful language, of course) and things like "clock that cheating bitch." There are many flamebaiting posts about Chris Brown that go unwarned because he has very few stans on this site and, basically, no one likes him. There are many other examples of lesser known or less-liked celebrities or non-popstar famous people getting insulted with flamebait and abrasive language but none of it being questioned or warned.
I guess I don't really care all that much, but I'm just curious as to whether the mods just don't care when it comes to certain people that aren't particularly "relevant" on ATRL or whether it's just because people don't tend to report those posts (but if they were to report them, they would be warned). I'll stop rambling, but I guess my question is: How and to what extent does the person that someone is insulting/dragging in a post determine whether it can be warned or not?

Personally, I look at the tone/words/comparison, not the person, but I agree
with Kworb for the most part.

On the sense of restrictions, yes, but it's off-topic when you start talking about general ATRL stuff when most threads have a specific topic.

It really depends on the context for me, since so many of the members tend to use certain words way too casually for it to be taken as a serious insult, which
Patrick sort of brought up with the mention of playful banter. Still, most likely will get banned.

What I don't understand is that many others websites also have advertising and swearing (nearly every other forum/website that has conversations on it is bound to have this). I mean I know that it may be a different advertising service, but the points of ads would be to get traffic from this site to theirs... so the content on this site shouldn't compromise the reputation of the advertised product at all. I'm not complaining or blaming you guys. I just find this unusual and i've never heard about this before. I could definitely wrap my head around censoring derogatory terms not just for the purpose of ads but for the site in general... but swear words

Many websites are smaller or have better funding or just are more strict. Yes, let's spend all of our time comparing to other websites.

Wait, is there a plan to stop all swearing on ATRL in the future? Like, is the censoring gonna end, and swears will be banned?

We just want less profanity on the board for the time being, so in addition to censoring, we'd like less circumvention of the rule, as well as less inappropriate posts in general.
