I think the biggest thing that happened to music is when music tv shows started caring about looks over substance. I'm sure there are tons more examples of how the industry has changed but this is the biggest one for me because if he was seen on tv than people would have seen his face 1st and he would have never been given a fair chance to succeed on country radio.

And that's what CNN tried to tell us. Can we blame MTV btw? I noticed that it's because of the 'Music Video' ********, everyone became care more to wow-people instead of focusing on the actual music. With artists becoming less about the music, people stopped buying albums. And the industry and stans are wondering why the sales number went downhill.

I've always blamed MTV, VH1, Nick, Disney, etc. and for MTV and VH1 I blame for other problems of this world because they promote "dumbass" behaviour as being "cool"

I know that she knows. But I still don't believe if she REALLY prepared herself for a long career like what I've hoped.

I am not sure that she does. She needs to get the hell away from pop (especially songs titled IKWW ) to have a chance at longlasting career. But 7 of the new songs she presented in UK were pop... Her strive to be successful (WW scale, very hard to do that with country music) clearly clouds her judgment.

Yeah that's why I said this new album will tell the story of the direction she wants to head. I think she has made some concrete positive moves with the people she has chosen to cowrite with and again the comments she has made in interviews. Right now it is a waiting game but the critical and commercial success of the new album will determine her longevity. I am hoping for the best but am prepared for the worst as this new album will be a turning point in her career either way.

The only tweet I remember commenting about the sound was from that lady from the radio station where she presented her lead single. She described it as pop. I don't think there has been any information about the 7 songs she presented in London. I am prepared for whatever happens good or bad.

maybe we shouldnt relate this album to the crash and burn heartbreak that happened a year ago! maybe she kept a few songs on that theme in the album but added more songs on new experiences, her philanthrophy, divorce, friends' loss, abigails' eternal friendship and more ..

maybe she is going in a different direction!
