The bigger part of Europe, Canada, Australia, Japan for example also have "enough access to food" but the obesity rates there aren't that high. Explain me why is that.

America is usually isolated, and will un-isolate itself if it feels a situation will threaten it. I know the war there is for oil, going in there will help oil come here.

Please, If you have power, you use it for the good of the society. Do have any idea how many people were killed in Iraq? How many people had to flee the country? How many people that lost their relatives? The fact that you are supporting that war is just :shankeno: Are you saying that you would actually prefer for america to get natural resources on the expense of the lives of human beings? I am done with this thread.

For the record, I'm pro USA. I just don't agree with some aspects, that's all.

I would say the opinion on the USA is quite black and white. There are people who hate the country and culture, and others who embrace it and wish they could relish in it. However, there will of course be jokes about the US because it is currently the global superpower. Think of it this way, we make jokes about the biggest popstars in the world and try to downplay them, but we still understand their roles. Of course, there are some people who legitimately hate America (and quite a few have a reason to), while others are merely jealous and that jealousy morphs itself into hate. So, in conclusion, I believe that the global opinion of the USA is commonly found to either be a hate, or a love, with almost no middle ground.

I'M NOT SUPPORTING THE WAR! I never did, if I could, I would march right up to the capital and tell the president to withdraw the troops there but I can't. Maybe I said it wrong, but I knew what the war was for is what i said in my post. I said it was for oil, I was never oblivious to that. The isn't popular here, it hardly was.

Thank god. I know it's not popular there. That's why i emphasized the fact that my negative opinion was directed towards the government and not the population.

I'm not even supporting that, I wasn't even being that serious. I was trying to make something negative into a different view. I'm not even fat, and it depends on where you live. I hardly see obese people in NYC because we walk everywhere. Its the places that have mostly cares, and New Yorkers hardly ride cars. In fact the obese people live in the suburbs and places will little mass transit. So from what I see, the reason for the obesity rate is the car culture in those places. Causing people to walk less, the less you move the more fat you get. Also the fast food, and its easy access. Those two things are the main cause.

The majority of my family is from Mexico and they feel pretty neutral leaning towards positive. The positive things is that there is more jobs here for people. But my family hates dealing with racism and stereotypes all the time. They came here for the American Dream only to realize there wasn't really an American Dream.

And a larger working class. Fast food just becomes an easier, more affordable answer for many.

You really don't want to know my opinion about (the government) of the USA. Let's just leave at the fact that they think they're fooling anyone with the "We've invaded Iraq for the sake of peace and democracy" ********. Well, guess what the only people that actually believe this are your own population. Stop meddling in everything about the world and start thinking about lowering the average BMI in your country.

I'd much rather live in Canada, Australia, NZ or any western European country than in the US.
I think most Americans are ignorant and arrogant.

Lebanon: The US doesn't give a **** about us, and they alledgedy helped Israel. Lebanese hate them for that. I personally am neutral, I'd rather go to Switzerland ot France.
Anyway America is superior in almost everything, so jealousy adds fuel to the fire.

Not really, its the quality of the military. And the US is the most powerful. Its the only superpower in the world after the fall of the Soviets.
