Most of ya'll trying to shade the US haven't even been outside of your flop countries. You read a couple news articles and hear our news take up 90% of your TV time, and suddenly you think you know American life.
And the Americans in here saying they don't like the USA, oh ****ing please, you wouldn't last more than a year outside of this country trying to make a living anywhere else. Sit down and appreciate your country's opportunity.
And PLEASE cut the ******** with the education argument. I'm not trying to get points tonight with some of you deadbeat HS dropouts trying to come for America's education system. :kasjfdl

I guess you couldn't do what I asked you too. I asked you to find a country with no patriotism, or patriotic people. All countries have it. Not every American is patriotic, like you.

No. Patriotism is not just blind support.

"Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel" - Samuel Johnson, 1775.
Having become an American through naturalization, I believe that most people in the world like the idea of "America", the notion of a land with opportunity in which someone can remake their lives based on their own actions and is afforded the liberty to do so. Conversely, when presented with actual Americans, they will likely have neutral opinions of them and excuse away most of the arrogance and ignorance that people from the US possess about the rest of the world.

We have over 300+ people and counting. More people immigrate (legally and illegally) at a superfluous rate than those that are leaving, and this is supposed to be some point of significance?
LOL, bye.

The same way you should't see Americans as such until you come here and talk to us.

lol no @ the bolded.
Youre mistaking us with Jamaica.
I've been to the NYC and Georgia a couple times. I never really gave an opinion on US like others in this , because well, I dont live there. I just gave my experience with tourists. and honestly the most uninformed ones have always been Americans.

Being patriotic doesn't automatically make you ignorant or make it blind support like your assuming. So what your saying is pretty much generalizing.

America's education system is a flop, no lies there. Loads of American adults can't even point the UK on a map. Did I lie?
I've traveled to lots of places, outside of my own, including Florida. I loved it. My point and opinion about America still stand and I won't change my mind any time soon. In fact, you just even proved it more.
Your post just screams hypocrisy and your opinion is beyond repetitive.

All I'm going to say is, alot of these other countries you all are from have your own dirt. But because America is the center of attention, everyone wants to point fingers at act like their own **** don't stink. And yet still, when these flop countries need help, America is the first person they're crying to.
I'm proud as **** as to be an American. You will never find the opportunity to succeed as much as you will in the USA. You know this, and so does the rest of the world.
I don't need you to change your mind. If Americans are clueless about where the UK is on a map, we're obviously unbothered by their opinion. For all practical purposes, we don't need to know where the UK is on the map, because we're already in the #1 country.
|
All of this post is opinion, which is a great thing to have (I'm not going to tell you you're wrong), except for the bolded part.
The bolded part is just plainly incorrect. There are countries with better economies, lower unemployment rates, and just a general better quality of living. There are also lots of countries pretty much on par with the US.
Acting like the US is somehow better for success than all of the other countries in the world is not only patriotism, it demeans other countries, as well.

In significant portions of western Europe you would have a BETTER chance to make your life than in most sections of the US - at the minimum you would have much more opportunity to try to do what you want without having to fear about being forced to be homeless or end up without medical insurance. That is a sad truth about the US today. No place in the world is better if you are rich.If you have the misfortune to be poor, many places in the world are much better than the US.

See, people wo think like you is how wars are started and countries set embargos. Whether directly or not, What happens in the world affects you. Disrespectful actions like what that woman did to me is how sanctions and limits get set. You cant come into another country and disrespect its people. Especially when the relationship is symbiotic.
|
That woman didn't seem to be disrespecting you, unless I just read the story wrong. She wanted to give you an Oreo but didn't know if you knew what an Oreo was? If only she'd paid more attention to Trinidad on the news...
I'm not saying America shouldn't be involved in other countries and stuff, but I'm just saying that it would not really make a huge difference to me if I knew that stuff. I'm going to college to be a teacher, once I get a job, I'm set for life pretty much. My job doesn't have a whole lot to do with international affairs. That area is for some people, some people enjoy it, but not me.

About no gay marriage, so we are hypocrites thing.
Well... The first country to legalize gay marriage was in 2001. Only 11 years ago. Since then only 11 countries have legalized it.
I would hardly say we are behind...

Maybe I was being ambiguous when I said Oreos. It wasnt a pack of Oreos. It was literally like 2 or 3 Oreo cookies from her hand like she was feeding a monkey in a ****ing zoo. That **** is disrespectful.
