Next up is Kelly "Mustang Sally" Clarkson. In her clip show, we see Kelly goofing off in her tiny hometown in Texas. Clearly fame hasn't gone to Kelly's head. I don't think it's possible for fame to go to Kelly's head. She's got some sort of hormone in her cerebrum that blocks fame from passing into her brain cells.
Man, Kelly's got such a big voice. It sounds so strange coming out of her body. Like Ryan, she's still got her whisky-sounding belting qualities; however, Kelly's got a much better range and is capable of working her way up to hit some big power notes. She definitely doesn't get lost in the phantom back-up singers. Her stage presence is okay, but she seems a little stiff. Not as a bad as R.J. or Jim or anything, but not as good as Ryan.
Brian interviews Kelly while staring at her breasts. Seriously, he does. He mentions that she's been "quarantined" at their group house. Apparently, Kelly gave this whole kick-ass performance while suffering from laryngitis. Wow. You really could not tell, but that might have been why she wasn't so active on stage if she had to concentrate more than usual to hit the notes. She and the contestants prayed over her voice, et cetera, because she claims it was totally gone yesterday. She calls the performance a miracle. My original post was way more angry and meaner but I had to tone it down. Like that is my favorite Kelly song of all time basically. I can't even deal with it not even making the top ****ing 20.
