Don't ace me. Yes it's an expression, but it brings an image up. Had the lyric been 'you were grimey with your love" or some **** I wouldn't take it literally, but it brings up the image of being covered in sewage/being a Grimer. Every expression isn't a good one, and that one is by no means good enough to put in a song.
