Yes, Katy obviously did, but she received the nomination with just 2 #1 singles at the time. The nomination didn't merit her potential commercial success that she would later receive.

Every artist who has had their work nominated for Album of The Year got it because the Academy obviously felt they were strong albums and deserving. Just because a few critics don't think it's a good album means **** all. Every artist works hard on their albums regardless of how much their involved, and if you get a nomination you've earned it.

I think that could probably be one of the lowest moments ever on the Grammys.... but no matter how many nominations they give to Katy in order to get teen ratings, she is not a grammy winner artist.

You see It's not that complicated. There is a committee called the "Grammy nominations committee" they go through all albums (of the population ones) that were released within the tracking period. Then they decided the 5 best. In 2010, they decided Teenage Dream was one of the 5 best.

DEATH. Katy Perry deserved it. 5 Number 1 singles, it's absolutely one of the most successful eras this decade.

Billboard is basing it on either impact, quality or sales. Not all at one album but do you get my point?

I think Bruno's is the most undeserving. The album was mediocre its sales aren't big. Teenage Dream's singles weren't really as big as JTWYA but it was consistent. Black Eyed Peas produced the anthem of 2009 plus the album really did make the then-growing genre (electro) into full pledge it-genre.

The Fame and Loud deserved it no questions asked
