£570k makes me feel slightly less bad for the guy.

Murray just picked the wrong era to be the 4th best player in the world.

That was a long wait for Roger. I bet he is emotional.

 Knew he would win it
Greatest player of all time
I feel sorry for Murray. The British public needs to learn a lesson - there is far too much pressure on this guy.

First off, great performance from Murray. Unlike in his previous slam finals, this time he was aggressive (indeed, for almost two sets he was bossing the match), served well - for most of the match - and kept fighting to the very last point . I'm more convinced now that he will win a slam - not because he got closer than ever before but because of the more assertive nature of his game.

Of course he equals a depressing record by becoming only the second man to lose his first four grand slam finals. But the plus side to that? The only other man who can know what Murray is feeling is sitting in his corner now - Ivan Lendl. Those who know their tennis history will know that Lendl, a late developer, went on to win eight grand slams and dominate the game in his late 20s. Murray can have no better mentor to guide him through the next few years - and hopefully, finally win that elusive slam. The Curse of Fred Perry continues, but I wager, not for much longer!

And as for Federer: not one of his ultra-dominant performances (but then, Murray didn't allow it to be), but stepped up majestically when required. With seven Wimbledons he equals the great Pete Sampras - but the tiebreaker is the match they played in 2001, when Fed won in five. He's undoubtedly the greatest Wimbledon champion ever.

I can't wait 'til the Olympics start. 3 weeks feels so long...
Apparently Serena hasn't withdrawn from Stanford, so she should be playing this week!
OMG, I can't wait to see her on hard courts again. Her opening match will be played during the day session on Wednesday.

Poor Andy though. He was doing great in the first two sets but just wasn't the same in the next two. I really hope he gets a slam some day. As long as he can stay fit and healthy, he will still have more chances.

He wasn't the same because the roof closed. Roger won 67 of the 110 points or so under the roof. Kin
In your opinion (this is for anybody) which one would you rather win as a tennis player, an Olympic gold medal or a Grand Slam? Elena Dementieva, the best female player never to win a slam, has a gold medal from 2008 and a silver in 2000. I don't think she's mad at that because the Olympics come once every 4 years so I think she would rather have those than the slams. Me too. Just wondering what you guys think
Also, anyone wanna make early projections about the Olympics? Prophet G says Fed will win the gold. The silver and bronze is still fuzzy in my head so I'll get back to you on that

   She deserves to
I hop King Fed decides to do it for Switz, he said he not decided whether to accept the offer yet.

If I were a tennis player I would definitely want to win a slam over a gold medal.
You at least get a chance to try and win one 4 times out of a year every year, rather then having to wait every 4 years.
No way.
And as far as my Olympic predictions go, I'm gonna wait another week to see who's healthy or whatever first. But they can be so strange, people winning gold medals that don't even be really winning single trophies. I know the men are happy that they're the best 2 out of 3 sets though.

. I mean I think the Olympics is more special imo. It only comes once every 4 years, and most people have only two chances to win it (three to four if you have a REALLY LONG career) so I think that might make it more special to win than the slams. This is gonna be Serena's third try at the gold, although she has had approximately 60 tries for a GS.

He probably doesn't want any more added pressure.
He really has a shot at winning the gold this year, especially with it being played on grass.
But he can't afford to come out playing like he did in the early rounds this year at Wimbledon.
