Nova's bringing Kelly Clarkson's Stronger tour to town
We're proud to announce we're bringing ‘Miss Independent’ to Australia for a unforgettable national headlining tour.
The two-time Grammy Award winner will be joined Down Under by special guests The Fray and The Voice star Sarah De Bono.
After finishing in the top spot on American Idol's debut season back in 2002, Clarkson quickly won over the hearts of fans right across the globe.
Over the last decade, the Texan-born singer and songwriter has released nine Top 10 singles, and has clocked up an impressive 12 Billboard Music Awards, four American Music Awards and three MTV Video Music Awards.
Her biggest hits to date include "Miss Independent", "Since U Been Gone", "Because of You", "Never Again", "My Life Would Suck Without You", "Behind These Hazel Eyes", “I Do Not Hook Up” and "Breakaway".
The last time Clarkson was in Australia, she treated Aussie fans to ripper shows during her All I Ever Wanted tour in 2010. This time, she’s armed with even more hits, including "Mr. Know It All", “Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" and her latest single, "Dark Side".
Ticket for her massive Stronger tour go on sale at 9am on Wednesday 11 July.

Kelly Clarkson confirms 2012 Australian tour to Fitzy and Wippa
US singing sensation Kelly Clarkson is coming to Australia and she broke the news to Fitzy and Wippa on Nova FM this morning.
“I’m so excited, I can’t wait. I’m not coming alone either. I’m coming with the Fray and Sarah De Bono (from The Voice) is opening as well so it’s going to be good,” Kelly said.
Kelly said she didn’t see Sarah on The Voice but had seen her since.
“She is like ridiculously good, she has an amazing voice.”
Kelly said her boyfriend Brandon Blackstock will also be coming out with her, so Fitzy and Wippa said they’d take him out for a beer.
Kelly’s Sydney show is on 27 September and tickets are on sale from 11 July.
WDKY has been an anthem for "it gets better" flash mobs, anti-bullying flash mobs, cancer, and now athletes
Kelly Clarkson’s Stronger beats hitting slumps, conquers cancer, will save the world Earlier today we told you about Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford, mired in a pretty bad slump and hitting just .224 overall. He’s hitting .241 now after a three-hit day, including a triple, as the Giants beat the Dodgers 3-0. Crawford’s secret? He told CSN Bay Area’s Andrew Baggarly before the game that he was changing his walk-up music with the expressed intent of beating the slump. But this story is bigger than baseball, as we’ll show you below.
After screening some potential tunes (Call Me Maybe was a finalist), Crawford settled on:
The music must have also rubbed off on Tim Lincecum: he went eight shutout innings as the Giants beat the Dodgers 3-0, claiming a trio of shutouts in the series (first time that’s ever happened vs. the Dodgers).
But I kind of buried the lead here: the story behind Stronger is much bigger than an MLB series in June. The song has become the unofficial anthem of sick kids all over the country — most notably the Seattle Children’s Hospital, who made this awesome YouTube video lip-synching the song.
Well at least the album is still doing well. I'm pretty confident that the album will have a +56 weeks on the charts. For Me, Dark Side is a guaranteed #1 on HAC & Dance chart. And at least a top 20 on pop and hot 100. RCA will not allow this to flop.
I Strongly believe that after Dark Side they are going to promote the hell out of I Forgive You.
There was a good article a few months back with someone from the label talking about album sales and he mentioned how it's a singles market now. 10 singles = 1 album. I hope I did my math right....
Stronger: 839,000
MKIA - 1.534 million
WDKY - 3.447 million
DS - 70,000
DYWS - 2.100 million
Depending, if you want to count DYWS or not. I remember Jason saying his people had to go through a lot of "red tape" to get Kelly. I'm sure RCA/Sony negotiated a nice piece of that $ pie.
Without DYWS sales: 505,100 (from singles) + 839,000 (album) = 1,344,100 (equivalent albums sold)
With DYWS sales: 715,000 (from singles) + 839,000 (album) = 1,554,100 (equivalent albums sold)
If you wanna divide DYWS's sales in half: 610,100 (from singles) + 839,000 (album) = 1,449,100 (equivalent albums sold)
I was looking at the calendar, there's 27 sales weeks left this year. She's got enough time to get that 1 million from albums alone! Looking at her schedule I hope she promotes the 4th single on The Voice and X Factor around the holidays to get that boost!! Good thing she's welcomed on all of these shows and by then I don't think ABC has a hold on her since Duets will be long over.
I don't know why people keep saying that Dark Side is a guaranteed #1 on HAC. It has a chance but I would not say it's guaranteed. Matchbox Twenty passed her today with a bullet nearly twice the size of hers and 2+ million AI on her. They could very well block her at the top.. they're perfect for HAC. Also Wide Awake is doing well on HAC.. Kelly has a nice spin increase going but it's not as big as Stronger's was when it flew to the top. Not that we expect it to be.. but nothing is ever guaranteed. It's a lock for Top 10 and hopefully top 5 though. I'll be so happy if it does hit #1!
