People downplaying Gaga's contributions to the gay community is the only criticism of hers I cannot take. I've tried, but I simply cannot do it.
It's so painful to hear people bicker about her promoting stereotypes and that they don't want her to be the "queen of the gays".
The gay community is so unbelievably fickle. You don't get to pick and chose who supports you. Having an activist of that stature really works wonders to incite and inspire youth. That's how change starts, isn't it?
Passion! The future of the gay community really rests within the youth, and Gaga is teaching them (us, lol) to embrace each other. There's no point in wasting time on the 70 year old's near death.
