I fail to see how Cheryl works harder than Justin, nor how his sales are all coming from "hype buyers" Cheryl stans seriously need to take a seat. You were all attacking him and his stans when you found out Cheryl released the same day, and you have rightfully ended up with egg on your faces. The fact that Cheryl is being outsold by him is embarrassing no matter which way you look at it, he has done zero promo whilst Cheryl has had high profile appearances on GN and the Voice and countless other interviews, and the hype in the UK for A Million lights was much bigger, and lets not forget than Boyfriend only got to #2 and dropped due to lack of promo and video - and Call My Name is the biggest single of the year. Not to mention Cheryls status. And now you are all dissing him just because he is outselling her, its pathetic. You can't complain when Justin stans rub it in, which they will do. At the end of the day, both are great albums. If you don't have something nice to say about Justin, don't mention him.
TBH I would rather Cheryl be #1 on Sunday, Justin has everywhere else, and A Million Lights is great.

It makes no sense though. CMN is a great pop record, she delayed the release until a week before to get the most sales and it's looking to sell more than her album. IMO, she should've released another single before that. All the public know is CMN, and if they dislike it, they won't be checking for the album. Why didn't she release promo singles
I appreciate you with this post since you stan for both Cheryl and Justin.

I'm genuinely surprised she isn't outselling him tbh, I don't understand where all the buyers from albums 1 and 2 went. I know she doesn't have XF now but she's a big enough name to stand alone. She probably would have benefited from two pre-albums singles tbh.
Exactly, I like both the same amount so I'm not afraid to call either out and I don't mind who succeeds.

I mean, she performed at the Queens Jubilee concert last week, and although she had a few tuning issues, was front and center on all the papers afterwards. She is a big name though. IDGI, perhaps she should have taken The Voice gig after all

I guess everything happens for a reason, complaining won't help, so I guess I will focus on the positive and #2 is not bad at all, we'll see what will happen in the end

Well she has now eventually overtook him on Itunes Ireland so hopefully the same thing will happen in the UK and he will fall soon.
Hopefully they can get her on some show this week for last minute promo.

Can you stop putting all of us in the same bucket? thank you very much.
And her fans are still there, do you think it's fans what makes an album #1 or casual buyers? the thing is not everybody is aware she has an album out, her last TV apparence was nearly 2 weeks ago... there isn't even a banner of her on iTunes, unlike in Justin's case. There aren't TV adverts. Cheryl has been nowhere to be seen in the last couple of weeks and for whatever reason albums don't sell much during June, not even albums that are highly anticipated.
This album will probably sell more than her last one though, even if it sells less in her first week. You can't compare a 4th quarter album to a 2nd quarter album.

And? How much the Jubilee did to Kylie? not much, and she actually performed her own songs, unlike Cheryl who not only performed a song that has nothing to do with her but it wasn't a good performance... if anything the consequences were negative, not positive.
She doesn't need to be a judge in any TV show as Call My Name proved when 95% of popstars in that country sell less than her.

I wasn't putting anyone "in a bucket", I was calling out the ones that attacked Justin, obviously.
It's a combination of casual buyers and fans, I don't really see what you're getting at? She should be outselling him, for the reasons I said, I'm not going to repeat myself.

As much as I love Cheryl, if her record company was smart and were really gunning for that #1, they should not have released on a week a worldwide recording artist was releasing his album. It was too risky, should have just waited until next week and had her do another promo spot before then. Again, too little, too late for those ideas, but alas, at least she has a top single :-)

Will there ever be explicit versions of the songs?

And again I don't think you gave any real reason...
a) Having the biggest first week sales of the year doesn't mean people are going to spend 9 or 13 pounds in one album because they have not listened to anything else.
b) She has not done any promotion in 12 days, except two signings that were limited to 500 people.
c) It's the lower period of the year regarding album sales.
I don't even understand why Cheryl has twitter when she doesn't even put a link to her album or single...guuurl, use it properly!
Btw, Cheryl is out of the country (unless she was going back to London from Newcastle) so she won't promote the album this week either.

I'm not talking about figures, I'm talking about Justin outselling her. Listing off excuses doesn't change anything - she is a bigger name AND she has done more promo AND Call My Name is everywhere. What does Justin have? All the reasons you said apply to Justin aside from having the biggest first weeks, which is in Cheryls favor.

You're talking like he's selling 2:1, when he's only 3,000 copies ahead of her.
Yes, Call My Name is everywhere, but it's only a song from the album. You can like Call My Name and buy it since it only costs 0.99 pounds, but spending 8.99 or 13 pounds in 1 album is another thing.
Cheryl didn't have the best album sales anyway, 125k for a single that opened with 293k... but I think this album is going to keep selling great if she keeps promoting singles

I still think "Craziest Things" should be single #2.

All I'm saying is I'm surprised she isn't outselling him, and be honest, you are too.
Don't close the thread Lee, we'll be good. Its just healthy discussion
