Well, I thought about a straight total-play ranking, but that would leave older albums disadvantaged and then certain people that listen to music more would dominate the ranks. I'm sure that we all listened to Miss Independent, for example, a monstrous amount when it was first released, but because people change computers/reset counts/etc. it would otherwise have no way to chart. I put much thought into it, and this was the best system I could find.
