Sorry but I don't understand posts like this. Firstly Alanis, Norah and Amy (RIP) were all talented performers, none of them was a fad. Secondly Adele has dominated global charts to a greater extent than any of them did so why you assume her career will follow the same path as Alanis/Norah, I don't know.

I'm not arguing that Adele won't see enormous success with follow-up eras. No one should be expecting her to sell 22M+ again anyway.

I'm saying that she is bigger than Norah ever was. Norah never had big hits. "Don't Know Why" didn't reach nearly as many people as "Rolling in the Deep," "Someone Like You" and "Set Fire to the Rain" did. Besides the Grammys, Norah didn't really win many big awards since she was a niche artist. Adele has conquered the youth and adult buyers alike, had exposure from MTV and has songs that have become radio and talent show staples. She could definitely go down a similar route as Norah did, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but Adele's popularity ***** all over Norah's.

And this topic has become redundant. The same people who are predicting that she's just a fad are most likely the same people who said that 21 wouldn't be a huge success.

Lol i agree Adele singles r more popular but Norah album sales **** over her sales and as per awards r considered Grammy is the biggest honour and u r saying this bcz right now Adele is everywhere its her peak era so i can not really argue about it

Norah's overall album sales only **** on Adele's because she's been out longer and has more albums. But if you really want to go deep, 21 has sold just as much as Come Away With Me and continues to sell, which means 21 is on track to outsell Come Away With Me, if it hasn't already. Not to mention, 21 sold over 22M copies in the digital age when albums have been struggling. Come Away With Me wasn't the only gigantic selling album of its time. You had albums from Britney, Eminem, Usher and *NSync. How do you like those apples?
