No she can't, do you even know what sellout means?
Sell out means you changed your sound for the sole purpose of getting a hit/becoming famous, usually at the pressure of your label/management, etc. That is why when Nicki began recording RedOne and Dr. Luke songs with very simple raps/lyrics, she was called a sellout. Azealia raps just as hard, if not harder, over her dance beats than she does over hip-hop beats.
Changing the style of music you do because you want to try something new, or aren't happy with the community and expectations in one genre is not the same thing as selling out.

Do you read? Did I say that I considered her a sellout? NO
That doesn't change the fact that PEOPLE ARE STILL GOING TO CONSIDER HER A SELLOUT whether you like it or agree with it. Not everyone views "sellout" the same. I don't think she's a sellout and I'm actually on her side in her decision even though I don't care for her. But people are still going to consider her a sellout. And then you're going to have people saying things like "she's just turning to a dance artist to become more famous."
Not my fault, bro. Deal.

She's still probalby going to release the same type of music, she just doesn't want to be associated as a rapper.
In the same way we do't consider M.I.A as a rapper. I think.

Maybe she feels as though there is too much pressure living under the "rapper" title.

Exactly.
What she was trying to say is that she hates the rapper title. She will still make the same music, but she won't associate with the hip-hop scene. She just wants to make music.

No one is saying this but you though. She's BEEN making dance music. It would be one thing if she had been making hip-hop up until now and was like "NOW I MAKE DANCE," but to anyone in the general public that has heard of her, she's ALWAYS been a dance artist. You have no evidence that people will consider a sellout other than baseless speculation that doesn't really correlate with the facts and the direction of her career thus far.
It would actually be more likely for her to be called a sellout if she started doing urban-radio friendly hip-hop tracks than to continue doing the dance tracks she's been doing.

I hope this is true
Her vocals are great don't get me wrong (Slow Hands >>>) but her rapping, in my opinion is better. Her flow ***** so hard.

Owl asked her on tumblr if we're still getting the mixtape and she said "DUH."
She confirmed in an MTV interview that the mixtape was mostly rap w/ a twist. The one confirmed collaboration is Styles P and he's a legendary gangsta rapper.

Azealia will be seen as a sellout to the general public. You can't rap and do dance at the same time. It doesn't work, just look at Nicki.

Let me break this down for you:
Azealia has been doing dance-rap, with a production style that is NOT the radio-friendly brand of dance blowing up the airwaves right now, and is continuing to do that. No case for a "sell out" claim.
Nicki STARTED as hip-hop, and then began working with the same producers/writers for work for Rihanna, Britney, Ke$ha, Katy Perry, etc. She did lowest-common-denominator pop music. THAT is why she was called a sell out, not because she did "dance" music.
Now stop trying to use terms y'all don't understand.

I don't care if you broke it down for me, what you're not getting is that the general public won't see your point of view. Nicki still does rap features, half of her new album is rap, but the second she touched pop she was back lashed. Her rap verses may not be as good as her previous one, but they're still solid. But the general public is not having it. Nobody is calling Azealia a sale out, we're just speaking through what the GENERAL PUBLIC will think. And you fans need to cut it with the "Azealia was a dance-rap artist all along" because there were tons of fights breaking out over her being a hip-hop artist.
