Yeah me and disco both think the lyrics fit John more than Kanye although it can be perceived to be about Kanye which is why she performed it at the VMA's
The only thing I seem to pick up on John would be "32 and still growing up now, who you are is not what you did." Idk how old Kanye is, or was when the whole VMA thing happened.
I think most people think him but look at the lyrics they point to someone who is childish and while Kanye has a huge ego and acts like a douchebag its more in the way of a snobbish adult while John just appears to have never grown up plus its alot harder to write a song about someone you don't even know that well. I'd say its easier to write a song about John and change a couple lyrics to make it appear to fit the Kanye incident too and lets not forget that John was 32 at the time the song was written as well as Kanye being that age Its a toss-up tbh though
She left little hints on the song. Just need to pay attention to the details and you will figure out who is the song about if you follow her closely. Like CFC said, Kanye is more like a snobbish adult. While Mayer still has a lot of growing up to do at the age of 32. "Innocent" is a mix of VMA fiasco & John's Playboy/RS interview in 2010.
And "Sparks Fly" was about Jake Owen, until the editing. It's John's song now.
And Sparks Fly was written (and first performed) before she was even with John...
Yes, but there is speculation amongst fans that she changed the lyrics so that it would be about John as well: "My mind forgets to remind me that you're a bad idea" applies to him moreso than anyone else she's dated.
