I remember that, too.  I still enjoy the song now, but now I'm like "why was I so obsessed with this damn song?"  All because of Bobby V's damn chorus.

I'm not sure, but Australia usually latches onto singles before the official release. I'd say PTA would be released everywhere WW, but I hope she holds off on releasing it in the USA for now; I want to see BITT reach it's full potential before PTA comes along and kills it.

These last couple of days have me realizing how much work nicki has put in. It sounds redundant, I know, but  at all these features on that playlist and the variety of artists that use Nicki. Amazes me how far she's come and is still being used by people that vary from people like Waka Flaka to Beieber. Im sure Nas is hitting her up for the album too

*looks at Starship's sales* damn right, Nicki was not playing when she said how much money the label was getting from her singles, Ik they are hella geeked about PF:RR because other then Wayne none of the YM or even CM artists were selling singles this massively.
I would like to know how much Starships has sold internationally along with PF:RR international sales.
i'm really hoping that this album reaches 5 million INTERNATIONALLY. i mean with the huge pop smashes that she yet to release isn't possible guys ?

i Hope one day Nicki will send a hip hop single to pop so she have a pop single soar up the charts, that would be a dream come true, the only songs that we've had like that were:

Moment for Life
tbh even though Flex was a asshole (STILL IS A ASSHOLE) I hope she got that from their conversation did anyone hear him say that ? I believe he said something of this nature, " well if you would have had DIOE playing on pop stations, I would've said " wow look at her ! I bet she didn't expect that song to play on pop stations". I swear that's the only thing he said that may have hit home.
Then again I see why Nicki would second guess sending a hip hop single to a pop station it would suck to get a flop, but I truly want her to start taking that risk. At the stage of her career, Nicki has been sending quite alot of music to pop outlet; at this point they may have branded her as one of the " go to artists for new music" ( meaning if her name is on it let's just add it our rotation).

Ugh, the Kim stans on Twitter are so ****ing annoying. They're calling Nicki Minaj out for having sold 764k WW, yet Nicki Minaj is still doing better than home girls last album. It took Kim 3 years to sell 375k and still hasn't reached Gold. At least we're at the Gold mark.
AnyHOE, to answer your questions IRep,
- (1) No idea how much Starships has done worldwide but I do have the following info:
USA - 2.6+ Million copies sold.
Australia - 280k copies sold
UK - 608,400 copies sold
I only have info from these major markets but you can tell she did nice numbers in a lot of other countries. With these 3 countries she's at ~3.5 Million copies so adding the other countries I want to say approximately anywhere between 3.5 and 4 million copies sold WW which is awesome.
- (2) Nicki Minaj has sold 764k copies of PF:RR WW as of June 4th, 2012 according to @chartnews on Twitter.
- (3) IRep, the only reason I don't think the singles she releases will make a huge difference is because Starships is SLAYING and BITT is doing pretty well for Urban and neither single is really helping her album sales. But we'll see when she releases PTA, WI, etc how the album sales will be affected.
I'll give Nicki hope for selling loads more but if the numbers still stay the same after her tour, I'm going to just accept the fact that this album didn't do as well as her original and move on. I mean she still did well with this album despite everyone trying to come at her. Yeah it took her 2+ months to go gold. Yeah she still hasn't hit 1 million copies sold WW but she is still growing and learning from this era, growing her fanbase, and that's what it's about. Nicki Minaj has learned a lot from this era, so she knows what she will have to do for her third album. The "sophomore slump" is common so no one (including Nicki herself) should be too hard on this album for not doing as well as her debut.
And one more note, when singles "top" the iTunes stores in Latin American countries, it's not that great relative to other countries.
For example, Starships is #2 in Peru, but according to this source, she sold 6 copies in the last 24 hours despite being #2 on iTunes. But iTunes is relatively new to Latin America so this is expected.

@ekid lol i read all of it so don't be embarrased it was flattering and informative #thankyou but can i ask you a question AND I MEAN NO SHADE BECAUSE i respect Katy Perry and her grind and tbh i like some of her songs but, you know back when she released "Teenage Dream" her numbers fell short like Nicki's.
I remember people thought it was going to do 700,000 - 750,000 like Nicki but it did 200,000 i believe
that point being said look how well the album did now... do you think Nicki could do those numbers, i mean Nicki did sell more then her on opening week NO SHADE I SWEAR and i thought you would know because you're a Katy stan and hella smart with these statistics.
AND ALSO nicki has the urban outlet which Katy does not have. Nicki has both the pop and urban outlet.
