I don't have my DS, it was stolen.
I used to play Crystal in my Game Boy Color (Back in my childhood).
So I'm using an emulator right now, it's all the same, I never fight on Wi-Fi or
trade Pokémon, so I don't care playing here.

And that's because starters level up faster than regular Pokemon...a mess.

EDIT: this is the only pokemon game I've played where my starter is falling behind my team, when I played Emerald and Diamond, My Swampert and Empoleon were ahead or in par with the rest of the team
I'm very anal about my training. I always keep my starter 5 levels above the others, until they catch up one by one. Then I repeat
This is such absurd slayage. I can't believe this is only meant to be a teaser for the DS game. If they fleshed this out into an entire series it would wipe the floor with Ash's panties.

The other series does have its moments, but the battles don't run at a fast pace like that. It's more:
-One trainer does an attack
-Pokedex
-Dialog
-More Dialog
-Other attack
-Pokedex
-Cut to team rocket
-Dialog
-Commercial
-Another attack
-Episode is over
