They're monster sellers WW, even without big US support.

The 300 million figure backs that claim up.
Again, they were the first group from mainland Europe to crossover to America. And they didn't like traveling, so they didn't promote much here. They had a lot working against them, and they have stilled created many classics that the majority of Americans know (and inspired plenty of musicians after them).
If Madonna is the greatest female in pop and Michael is the greatest male, then ABBA is the greatest group.
