If that's the case, why did Missy gain SO much respect as a crossover artist?
Why is Azealia succeeding the most out of the up-and-coming girls despite having straight-up HOUSE beats?
No one is MAD at Nicki for trying new things, they're mad at her because the things she's trying to do are not good and BLATANTLY dumbed down from the material she is capable of creating.
Y'all keep trying to excuse it by pretending she's doing some revolutionary, new ****, but that has WORKED for female rappers in the past. That is NOT the problem. The quality of the material, and her attitude when confronted about it is the problem.
And as a side note, Flo-Rida STARTED as a pop-rap artist, he didn't start rap and suddenly jump. He was NEVER a factor in urban hip-hop/radio.
Did Lil Kim get flack for being on Christina's Can't Hold Us Down?
Did Lil Kim get flack for doing Lady Marmalade?
Did Missy get flack when she crossed over?
Hell no. The fact is they don't like Nicki and they use her crossing over as the excuse. If this was Wayne or anyone else they wouldn't dare. Plain and simple. Kudos to Nicki for standing up for herself.
i thought she would lose alittle bit but i'm surprise she's really holding her own weight and then some BUT NOW I NEED NICKI TO HANDLE FLEX FAKE ASS CAUSE HE THREW SOME HARD SHOTS AGAINST HER !
