Well after auditions at x factor. The ones who made through go to boot camp and go past rounds testing vocals and stuff. Than 8 acts from each category (boys, girls, groups, and +30s) are chosen to go to the judges houses. Each judge is then assigned a category then picks half of their eight acts in their category to move on to the live shows. To help the judges make the decision is another celebrity (past examples: Rihanna helped LA Reid, Mariah Carey helped Simon (but missed her flight cauz of hurricane irene), Jhud helped Kelly Rowland, Enrique eglasias helped out Nicole Scherzinger).
