Madonna is over-doing it. She's been in the buisness longer than Gaga, she's suppose to be the bigger person and put it in the past, even though Gaga never really shaded her in the first place. She needs to slow down.

No, but you are acting as if Madonna cares whether or not she has to pay Lady Gaga to sample "Born This Way" at her concert. She doesn't.
When you realize that Madonna doesn't care about a measly payment, you will understand that the whole "Lady Gaga is getting paid" spiel is not a big deal or some kind of win for Lady Gaga.

Performing a song on national television or on a international tour requires a sign off from the original producers/artist.
Ever wonder why on shows like toddlers and Tiaras, the real music doesn't play? Because the network would have to PAY the artist to play the song.
Being on an international tour and performing the song multiple times, and not just once, requires PERMISSION. from gaga. Meaning a contract. Meaning money for gaga.
