Korean pop star BoA is gearing up for her U.S. launch beginning with a move to the West Coast. The singer, who recently relocated to Los Angeles, is assembling an all-star team of producers and songwriters for her English-language debut album, scheduled for release next year.


Producers/songwriters Brian Kennedy (Rihanna’s “Disturbia”) and Sean Garrett (Beyoncé’s “Ring the Alarm”) are already on board, while a remix to “Eat You Up” featuring Flo Rida has been recorded and will be released in the coming month. The Bloodshy & Avant-produced first single is available now on iTunes.

BoA celebrated her 22nd birthday last week with a packed event at Los Angeles hotspot Zune LA.

Also BoA will give her first live performance of "Eat You Up" on November 22nd as apart of the first ever Youtube Live event:

BoA will perform her debut song 'Eat You Up' broadcasting live in front of the world's stage. The world's largest video site, YouTube, is hosting a global live event called 'YouTube Live.' 'YouTube Live' will be a large-scale special event showing performances from San Francisco's Fort Mason Center and in Tokyo's Shinkiba Studio Coast. It will take place on November 22nd at 5 pm PST, and 8 pm EST.

A SM representative said that BoA will give a powerful performance and will gather the world's internet users attention. Along with performing 'Eat You Up', BoA will take part in the opening stage as the MC, connecting San Franciso's stage with Tokyo's.

Youtube Live will also feature performances from Katy Perry & Soulja Boy.

That's not for certain yet.
And she's actually Korean, she started in Korea and later made it big in Japan too.

"Eat You Up" has been getting alot of buzz without any actual promo started up yet.
It's getting a great response in the clubs too.
Her label has some surprises planned according to a statement they released and there are some radio and TV promo being planned along with a tour.

She's currently living in LA and their are auditioning some new dancers for her promotional stops.

I really hope she makes it here. She has all the right ingredients for success. Overseas buzz, good american producers, now let's just hope her follow up singles will be bigger and/or they start really promoting "Eat You Up"

I'm not getting my hopes up yet. Koreans are even worse: they talk a big game, but they never follow through on their plans on American breakthroughs (see "Rain" and "Se7en"). However, SM seems to be pushing BoA a lot further than other Asian artists I've seen try to make it in the U.S.
