The pop star will take on a supporting role in the earthquake film helmed by Brad Peyton.
Kylie Minogue is making an earth-shattering move.
The pop star and former judge on The Voice UK is joining the earthquake action film San Andreas.
Dwayne Johnson and Carla Gugino star in the New Line disaster movie, which involves "the Big One" hitting California, forcing a special ops firefighter (Johnson) and his ex-wife (Gugino) to make the treacherous journey from Los Angeles to San Francisco to rescue their daughter. Mingoue's role is being kept under wraps.
The project, which is currently shooting on the Gold Coast of Australia, will serve as a homecoming for Minogue, who lives in London but hails from Australia. The multiple Grammy winner and singer of Can't Get You Out of My Head has been very selective with her film roles, appearing most notably in Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge!
She will likely contribute to the San Andreas soundtrack as well.
Warner Bros. will release San Andreas June 5, 2015.
Brad Peyton is directing the
big-budget movie, which is being produced by Beau Flynn and Village Roadshow.
Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore wrote the initial draft, with Allan Loeb, Carlton Cuse and Chad and Carey Hayes working on more recent drafts. The project is based on an idea by Flynn.
Minogue is repped by CAA, Untitled and RocNation.
