2013: Justin Timberlake - The 20/20 Experience
(968,000) [April 6, 2013]
Additional Notes:
"The Eminem Show" had street date violations (stores selling albums earlier than their release dates, illegally) and the release date got switched @ the last minute due to it leaking, resulting in it doing 285,000 in one day. It debuted a week early at #1, then went on next week to do the 1,322,000. If you count his 285k week at #1, then Shania Twain's "Up!" with 874k was 2002's highest.
"Born This Way" had that notorious Amazon MP3 99 cent discount that resulted in an additional 400k+ copies. If you do not count those towards it's debut, then Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter IV" had the highest debut of 2011 with 964k.

He was the biggest album seller of the whole 90's decade in U.S.
And he's a Country artist, so most likely.

Not when in 2013 you have the digital era, and social media power.
Being local in 2000 actually sold you more than being global in 2013 too (2000 being the biggest album year in music ever).
