I have always been a strange case in terms of this. I love music, but I am just not into musical theatre. I find the music to be too campy and cheesy at times. This is by means meant to disrespect musical theatre participants, because I know they take hours & hours of work to prepare for & require a ton of work & effort. I have so much respect for people in musical theatre but it's just not something I've ever really been interested in myself. However, that doesn't mean I'll completely close myself off to doing a show in the future. They're fun to be a part of & great social opportunities if you put enough effort into it.
Thoughts? Do you like music but not musical theatre? If so, what are your favorite shows?
