Sofia changes venue for Lady Gaga gig
Quote:
The upcoming Lady Gaga concert in Bulgaria's capital Sofia will be staged at a hall and not a stadium.
Sofia's Arena Armeets sport hall has been confirmed as the new venue for the gig, replacing national stadium Vasil Levski, the organizers from Sofia Music Enterprises and Live Nation have said.
The date of the concert remains the same – August 14 2012, at 8 pm local time.
The price categories of the tickets and their positioning in relation to the stage will remain the same. All standing tickets will remain valid for the Armeec Arena, without needing to be reissued.
The seated tickets will be reissued with new seat numbers. The exchange procedure will take place from July 17th until August 14th, 8 pm on the day of the concert, at the Ticketpro outlet at Ticket Centre NDK – Sofia, Ticketpro's central office (28 Shandor Petiofi str. Sofia) or the Arena Armeec cash desk (during the day of the concert).

I'm not surprised. There is no way she or any other american touring act could fill a 45,000 capacity stadium in a fairly under developed country of only 7 million people. It's possible that the dates in Romania, Latvia, Lithuania & Estonia may follow suit.

Are u going to come for a venue change in a Eastern European state with a ruling conservative church, a non-latin alphabet, and an area of the world which man popstars dont even bother touring. Nonetheless she is staging a concert in a good number of the eastern european and northern european countries, unlike her competitors who even if the give attention to eastern europe will give a performance in a couple countries.
Keep grasping to diminish what is to become one of the most successful female tours of all time.

I don't understand why her label won't just reschedule since the football union is unwilling to budge over the date. Oh well, as long as Gaga fills those seats and gets those coins.

Honey it's not that she can't fill it up. LMAO. It's because the football union there and her label have been fighting for that date. Gaga's concert is a day before a match.

Lies, common touring acts can't, but LEGENDS can achieve this feat

American superstar Madonna had a very successful concert here as part of the second European second leg of her Sticky & Sweet Tour on August 29, 2009. She performed in front of 54,000 people [5] and was warmly welcomed by her numerous fans. After the show, the grass was badly damaged, which caused some discontent amongst football fans, national team players, coaches and staff.

A tour is a tour, though.

It's not a a big deal.
It's really hard for an American act to sell-out dates in Eastern Europe.

So it's more of a schedule conflict with the football league rather than an issue with lack of demand?
I'm not sure why they opted for stadium dates in those tiny Eastern European countries, though.

But the new venue has a 19,000 cpacity and the old one has 45,00 and they're not giving any refunds indicating that they hadn't even sold 19,000/45,000 yet.
I'm not trying to undermine the success of this tour btw. Filling an 8,000 capacity arena in Sofia would be an achievement for GaGa nevermind a stadium.

Locals were saying that it was more common for concert tickets to sell consistently in the weeks leading up to the date rather than selling out quickly as soon as soon as a date is announced.

Yeah because somebody with a 4-5 year old career should be pulling the numbers of a musical legend. What you are doing is more of a compliment than anything tbh

that doesn't answer my question how you put 43,230 people in a 19,000 arena? if you show me 2 dates in this new arena i will gladly take a seat because that will means that she sold out and the problem was the venue

Madonna has had to cancel dates because of a lack of sells. Let's not.
